Agriculture and Agri-food Canada Green Internships

The Green Internships Stream funds internships for post-secondary graduates to undertake environmentally beneficial activities, services or research in the agricultural sector but not restricted to farms. You could receive up to a maximum of $16,000 per intern under the Green Internships Stream. Non-profit entities with five permanent employees or less could be eligible for up to 80% support. Non-profit entities with more than five employees may be considered for up to 80% support on a case-by-case basis. NOTE THAT THIS FUNDING IS STACKABLE (it can be used in conjunction with other funding programs).

Industrial Research Assistance Program: Youth Employment / Youth Green Employment

The Youth Employment Strategy is the Government of Canada's commitment to help young Canadians (aged 15 to 30) obtain career information, develop skills, find good jobs and stay employed. Through federal departments and agencies, among others, the Youth Employment Strategy assists employers in hiring young Canadians.

Career Focus Green Jobs is a wage subsidy program for employment opportunities that have a green mandate or any job with an employer that has an environmental focus.

Agricultural Youth Green Jobs Initiative: Green Farms Stream & Green Internships Stream

The Agricultural Youth Green Jobs Initiative will help fund internships for post-secondary graduates and high school students working in the agriculture industry. These internships would include activities or projects that benefit the environment.

Since its launch in 1997, NRCan’s Science and Technology Internship Program (STIP) led by Employment and Social Development Canada, has provided funding to eligible organizations for internships in an effort to assist youth in finding valuable work experiences.
