Building the talent pipeline for the Clean Growth Economy

The Clean Leadership Program supports clean growth ventures by pairing them with trained, talented students and young professionals.
We train. We subsidize. We support. This is Clean Leadership. This is our future
.

The Clean Leadership Program is designed for Atlantic Canada’s clean economy. Our goal is to grow the talent pipeline for growth ventures that address a range of complex global sustainability challenges—from improving energy storage, to creating new value products within the circular economy, to defining the future of transportation and agriculture.

Recruiting top talent is half the battle; the other half is ensuring that the talent stays with the organization, or at least within the sector, for the long run. Meaningful internships are an effective way to develop local workforce attachment to targeted growth industries, while offering employers a low-risk way to assess employee fit, critical to long-term retention.

1. Summer internships in Atlantic Canada

In partnership with Clean, impact organizations invest in training and employment for current and full-time students in clean tech and environmental jobs from May to August. We help equip Clean Leaders with the knowledge and aptitude to become leaders in their communities while delivering meaningful environmental projects during 15-week post-secondary internships, 15-week Aboriginal Leadership internships, and 9-week summer internships.

By tapping into a student’s journey mid-way through school, our training + internship program offers exposure and experiential learning in new green career path opportunities – while giving young minds the tools they need for future success.

Interns emerge from the program with the knowledge and aptitude to become professionals and leaders in their community.

2. Professional internships

Clean Foundation is proud to announce that we will be delivering Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Science Horizons internship program in Atlantic Canada. We offer 6-12 month placements in jobs that focus on environment, science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to graduates from college or university.

Eligible employers in Atlantic Canada can include individuals, businesses, non-profit groups, post-secondary educational institutions, and other organizations including Aboriginal agencies. Note that this funding is NOT restricted to Nova Scotia - employers and internships can be located anywhere in Canada.
